And they meet after three long years of knowing…..
By ethics of literature, this would surely be a wrong start of storytelling but that’s how it goes. As every story has a boy and a girl, this boy was a simple technical guy with average good looks, and the girl was a dreamer cum fairy-tail follower with a very big heart. Their communication was bounded by the internet speed in their colleges. Yes..!!! They both were in college and of course different ones and very distant apart (in fact in different states). They had long night calls and mobile caring i.e. to show immense love through cell phones. Within a span of two months, they were in a relationship, a so-called boyfriend-girlfriend status in our society. Gifts were exchanged by amazon.co.in and love was transported to different states. The girl several times demanded to meet but there was a thought in boy’s mind to keep this meeting late as the things would be great if they are in suspense. Life would be quite straight forward and complication-less if they had met before and he didn’t want that. Three years before his thoughts were different and he was a different human being, the only thing which was common from these three years is his love for her. His love was genuine as that remains constant. His care is genuine until now as three years have been passed. His love can’t be defined as he was also confused by his feelings. As they never met before, some things were common. He never loved her smile, nor her lips. He never loved her vision, nor her eyes. He never loved her touch, nor the creases on her hands. He never loved her innocence, nor her fare skin. He never loved her thoughts, nor her mind. He never loved her care, nor her heart. He only loved her love and the way she loved him. She made him the king, but there was no kingdom to rule. She puts suns in the sky, but the night was his home. She made him a knight, but there were no battles to fight. He never loved her but he loved the reflection of the man he saw in her eyes. But listen, my friend, she never loved him either. She just loved being the queen. She loved being the sun. She loved being the woman behind a great man. She never loved him. She loved having something to give. Someone to fix. Someone to please. You see, in love, you don’t get what you want. You get what you think you get. This is how he defined love at that time and he was somewhat wrong in this context. Time passed and there were differences as it is certainly difficult to maintain a long-distance relationship and certainly very difficult if both never met. The boy never knew when he had the breakup and when their chats stopped. Now after three years from initiation of their knowledge, they met. That too because of some unknown reason boy visited the girl’s place.
The time had come when she will be meeting him. Once they were in a relationship but now there was a complete friendship protocol between them. Once they planned their meet to be exotic and romantic but now they will meet only if she had time. Boy was unknown of any person in her life but he knows that there must be someone, someone special better than him. It’s just that everybody wanna steal her girl and everybody wanna take her heart away. The day had come and of course, he was early at that place before her. He never planned to wear something special or to buy something special and he was afraid of this. Waiting and waiting. A light blue t-shirt that’s all he could get to wear with blue jeans and he never cared about it. She came ten minutes after and that would be awarded as of so much less delay time. She was wearing red with that extra hint of kajal in her loving eyes. Yes..!! She was beautiful. She was like the only star visible in the cloudy sky sparkling with glitter. He wishes to hug her in her first reflection but there was this friendship protocol. He can’t hug her love is all he was thinking all this time. She shook hands with him and that physical touch with shiver was accomplished but wait boy wasn’t feeling her that good. Maybe he was expecting something else or maybe her phone which must have remain silent was disturbing him. In fact, according to the ethics of dating or meeting someone, you must not use your cell phone as this creates a very awkward moment and a condition of discomfort but maybe she had her priorities. “Priorities” that’s what she always said before choosing anything in life. He planned something to speak but he wasn’t able to. This is love when a well-known speaker who had performed and handled stage a large number of times in his life and a VJ is unable to speak his heart in front of her. This must be because of her and surely that cell phone pictures and messages that keep on ringing in the middle of their conversation. He started boring her as he was not speaking something fruitful. She started telling him about her lifestyle and the people she has in her life. Those special ones and those close ones. He doesn’t know why she was telling him that but he doesn’t want to lose her and that’s the only thing he knows. He never planned to be so much boring as he never bored someone before and surely he never planned this meeting to go like this. He then gave her a small bucket of chocolate that’s the only thing he could buy in that ten-minute delay of her coming. That brought a smile in her face and he didn’t know it was fake or real. She started telling him the regrets in her life and he started focusing on that rather than telling her that his only regret in his life was her. That is, he regrets letting her go out from his life and he still expects a miracle to happen and that love gets reframed but he too doesn’t know what he spoke in front of her about it. As she was still busy with her phone, he planned to end the meeting but with a happy note. How happy life was before when there were no mobile phones, at least people could talk to the person seating beside them. Then he took out his camera and took a selfie and that’s the only advantage of cell phones. As he planned to exit, she called the tempo for him and that final note needs to be said and the final hug needs to be done, those stupid formalities. But as she hugged him, something very delighting happened to him and he told her to take care and if anytime anything she needs, he’ll be there and he was there before but there are several people in her life more important and smarter than him, to whom she will consult first. Of course not smarter, as he knows what’s happening in her life and who is smarter for her. How can he tell her that his friends tell him that their picture is still better than any movie poster and their picture together is not a good picture together but their connection can be depicted from that picture! This is all that meets was. A long-awaited three years boring meet. Surely he will meet her again in some better circumstances and better place where he could speak his heart and tell her the definition of love which he couldn’t tell anyone. Probably he couldn’t love anyone in this frame of time but he needs to explain what love is to her for him. And surely he is an optimistic person to think positively for future meetings between them.
